40 Days & 40 Nights

Some people use Lent as a second New Year's Resolution or as a 40 day diet plan.  I'm not gonna lie, I've given up edible guilty pleasures as well. Guilty as charged.  Chocolate and ice cream are my usual suspects for Lent but this year I decided that I really need to dig deep and give up my guiltiest pleasure.  I know this might sound crazy but I realized that my biggest indulgence is SOCIAL NETWORKING. *gasp* So yes, this year I have given up Facebook and Twitter.  Obviously I have given up other things but I choose to keep those to myself.

I cut myself off as soon as my clock struck midnight.  I am about 48 hours in and I can tell you right now that this is gonna be the most challenging Lent for me yet. Every morning when I wake up I allow myself an extra 10-15 minutes to check my email, Facebook and Twitter, this has been my routine for a couple years already.  I enjoy my dose of light weight stalking first thing in the morning.  Facebook and Twitter curb my boredom and have become habit when I am "idle".   So now I challenge myself to find other ways to entertain myself.  By Easter I hope to have broken my social media habit.  We shall see how that goes. lol

I know I kept saying I was going to blog more often but I have been SO incredibly busy.  I will re-cap my past few months in a later post.

My eyes are heavy.

Sweet dreams

Hello? (((echo)))(((echo)))(((echo)))

Shame on me, I've been a bad blogger! As we all know my husband is home & home for good! He's been home for about 6 months & thus the reason for my complete and utter lack of blogging. I keep saying that I'm gonna start up again to exercise my writing skills, I would love to continue blogging as my creative outlet. So here I am, again.

Quick update:
-In about 3 hours I am officially on winter break! (Yes, I'm blogging in class)
-I have officially been in California for a year!
-I've been in school for 1 1/2 years already, only 1 1/2 years to go!
-My schedule next quarter is pretty hectic. I usually like to give myself 3-4 day weekends when putting my schedule together but next quarter I am at school M, T, W & F and to make matters worse I have all night classes. I'm taking Fashion Show Production, 3D Visual Merchandising, Apparel Marketing, Sales Promotions & Contemporary Art.
-We're moving into our new place on Monday, I can't wait!
-We set the date, our budget is set & our venue is finalized for our wedding! Yeah, we're already married but we married in Va with no family around so now we are celebrating our marriage in Ca with all our closest friends & family =) ps: I already found my dress. I la-la-la love it!

----

Why does is not feel like the Holidays? Maybe I'm so consumed with school, 6 hours drives and our upcoming move. Bleh.

I'm sure once I start my Christmas shopping I will feel more in the Holiday Spirit.

---

In an attempt to save some dough I have cut down my shopping to pretty much only necessities. It's not an easy task, I'll tell you that. Meanwhile, I will just online window shop and drool until the time is right for me to do some shopping =)

Here are a few things that make me go (((swoon)))

Jeffrey Campbell shoes make my heart happy. It's apparent that the platform shoe is making a comeback & I'm totally down with it.

What can I say, I'm a shoe fanatic. =)

'till next time....

Peace & Love!

My Bravo.

God has seriously blessed me with such an amazing friend. Honestly, I have never met such a genuine & self less person in my life. Carmen is truly one of a kind & I'm so lucky to say she is my best friend.

Her good nature is contagious & very inspiring.

She's always stuck by my side & kept me grounded. Carmen has witnessed me at my worst and my best. Even at my worst she has never judged me.

I always enjoyed loafing and talking shit. *sigh* the good ol' days!

Good memories:
Teaching Carm how to drive a stick shift.
Non-gay Wednesday
Laughing at Hench walk into a wall
"Lick your hand"
Carrying me out of my rack & putting my shower shoes on for me on my birthday
Doing my hair for work when I pulled a muscle in my arm
The cat lady at the MAC store in Richmond
Our Richmond get away
"Can you at least shave your ankles?"
Ghetto haircuts on deployment
Teaching me how to Salsa, Bachata and Merigue (spelling?)
& many many more

Carm,
I just wanted to dedicate something to you because I love you =)

I hope to see you soon my love.

I'll probably talk to you on the phone tomorrow. lol

500 Days of Summer

It starts off "This is NOT a love story but a story ABOUT love." I didn't really know what to expect but the movie gives such a powerful message about fate and love. I absolutely adored this movie!

---

It's what you have now that will lead you to what you can have.

It's okay to be selfish sometimes. Regardless if it's your feelings or someone else's at stake, ALWAYS follow your heart. NO MATTER WHAT. Good things will come of it.

What I had lead me to what I have.

Fate & Love, true story.

Sunday Funday!

I've had such a productive day! My ass woke up at 7am! I wanted to sleep in but my body just wouldn't let me. It feels SO GREAT to accomplish so much before noon.

-Breakfast: Tall glass of soymilk with Toast
-Picked up around house giving my breakfast some time to digest.
-Ran 3 miles at the gym. Pushed myself way too hard, I got dizzy afterwards. I'm a panzy! I was trying to work myself up to 3 miles but I've been out of the gym for over a week so I really pushed it. Back to 2 miles runs for me! haha!
-Stretched to my Yoga dvd. I had a hard time because Gizmo kept trying to cuddle with me. He's so sweet =)
-Vacuumed and dusted the house
-Took a shower then filled up the tub and took a nice Lush bath with my Mint Julep mask

& now here I am blogging & watching one of my favorite movies "Coming to America".

I'm actually about to get started on my homework.

I have to do a presentation on Value & the 4 P's of Marketing, finish my Textile Company Report and History Fashion dictionary. I put a good dent in my homework last week, it's just some finishing touches I need to do.

I feel so good having accomplished so much already!

Trying to stretch.
Have a happy Sunday!
